(ABOVE) Johnny the engineering student, Malta, 1916. He is far left, front row.

(RIGHT) Johnny the flutist and intermission magician with the White Symphony Orchestra, Toronto, late 1920s. He is at the centre.

(BELOW) Johnny working in a Toronto magic shop, late 1920s. It was most likely the Japanese Magic & Novelty shop on Yonge Street which changed its name in WWII to Arcade Magic & Novelty. It closed in 1979 but is still fondly remembered.
